Thursday, September 21 — Hildegard at the Castle— SOLD OUT!
St. Hildegard von Bingen returns to the Castle with a fabulous dinner featuring her own healthy recipes and a special presentation on the many herbs she used. At 5:30 p.m. you will savor a fabulously prepared dinner featuring St. Hildegard’s own health-oriented recipes from her cookbook. At 6:30 p.m., you will be treated to a talk given by Lisa Grabenbauer, owner of Prairie Star Botanicals, who will tell us about the healing properties of the many herbs used by St. Hildegard.

Tuesday, October 31— Joslyn Castle Neighborhood Halloween Party
Join us for a Halloween Party stretching from St. Cecilia Cathedral, to Joslyn Castle, and The Offutt Manor, trick-0r-treaters are in for a treat! Stop by duch*esne Academy, where students and Via Christie guests will be handing out candy and toys.

Tuesday, October 31 - Thursday, November 2— Día de los Muertos Community Ofrenda
Last year, more than 400 individuals were remembered with their names and offerings at the Community Ofrenda. Join us as we remember those who passed away this year by placing your own name(s) or personal objects in the Ofrenda in the St. Cecilia Cathedral Nash Chapel October 31 - November 2.
Ofrendas are memorial altars, usually kept in homes during the Mexican holiday of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.

Celebrate St. Nicholas Day in medieval fashion! Dramatic readings on the life of St. Nicholas, excerpts from medieval poetry and literature, and period music are made complete with a sumptuous medieval-inspired menu, fit for kings and queens!

Celebrate J.S. Bach’s birthday and the 20th anniversary of the Martin Pasi organ with a concert presented by Cathedral Arts Project and the St. Cecilia Institute featuring Nathan Laube, one of the world’s elite organ performers and pedagogues. A “Meet the Artist” and Bach Birthday Reception will follow the concert in the Cultural Center.Learn more here.

A talented local young artist whose imagination is limitless, he delights in bringing together worlds that would not exist naturally. He describes his exhibit, titled The Garden of Dhya, as “a representation of finding peace in meditation... An inter-world filled with greens, flowers, and wildlife all in harmony with each other. A perfect place where my memories and thoughts can live together unprovoked by negative emotions. My protected garden.”

Sunday, April28— Standing Bear Cantata
This is a one-act cantata for baritone and strings written by Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, a
Chickasaw classical composer and pianist. Standing Bear is a tableau of imagery and thoughts the
great Native American chief has while journeying back to his native homeland to bury his son. It
is an intimate reflection on the nature of relationships and their connections to homeland.

This exhibit illustrates Catholic imagination in the design and embellishment of garments and liturgical objects spanning more than three centuries.
