Konkani Dal

I love dal and only that love for dal made to explore all the different dal recipes from 26 Indian states, and I posted them all in September of 2016. You can find the entire list here. Dalithoy was on my list from last year but finally got a chance to post it now.

All dal recipes might sound similar, and it’s a fact that most of the dal recipes use similar ingredients too. But there are subtle differences and these subtle differences makes the dal unique and delicious.

So, what makes this dal recipe unique? Of course the coconut oil tempering and the ginger. I made this dal without any onion and garlic, and that’s how I learned it so going that route. :-) By the way, I adapted the recipe from Aayi’s Blog and as always modified to suit our taste buds.

I did not prepare this dal entirely in instant pot. I pressuce cooked the dal in instant pot and went with the traditional stove-top method for tempering. But you can do it in your preferred way. Here comes Dalithoy – the Konkani Dal recipe.
