result for "WindowsUpdate_80070570" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" is the error i get when i try to get updates
the updates in services is set to auto is on etc, the log says - AutomaticUpdates Failure Software Synchronization Windows Update Client failed to detect with error 0x8024001f. i have searched many forums to no avail
its a fresh install no third party firewall installed.

By fresh install,. do you mean a "clean" install?

yes clean install, i tried ClientDiag and got this -

How long ago did you install?
Do you gave a system restore point to go back to?
Go to Start > Run,. and type cmd,. now type sfc /scannow

did a scan all fine, when first installed win7 i went online and tried updating before installing anything else, even installed
new update agent made no difference same error, would having old dialup connection make any difference

Would you like to re-install if if hasn't been that long.

i have formatted and installed 7 three times with the same reults, wont update
the client Diagnostics Tool shows a few things but i dont understand it do you ie the errors it shows and how to resolve
them errr!

Found this through Google
Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue
At the command prompt, enter the following commands (you may copy and then paste them by right clicking with your mouse and selecting paste), and then press ENTER after each:
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wucltux.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuwebv.dll
net start bits
net start wuauserv
net start Eventlog
exit
Reboot and try update again.

Is it just one Update that won't install? Because if so then you can navigate to the Windows Update catalog in IE 8 and download the update manually.

i cant get any updates at all just that error message WindowsUpdate_80070570" "WindowsUpdate_dt000
im using the start/ programs/windows update its driving me mad
